LOCATION
This charming villa is located in Episkopio, a mountain village in a beautiful hill covered in pine trees, just 5 km away of Ermoupolis.
It took its name from the ruins of the residence of the Catholic bishop (bishop in Greek Episkopos). In the 19th century Episkopio was one of the famous tourist resorts among the old Syrian merchants who built here impressive and glorious mansions.
At the top of the hill stands the church of Prophet Elijah, while on the road to Malia you will find the Church of Panagia Episkopiani or Protothroni which is believed to have constituted the first Metropolitan Church of Syros and according to tradition saved the islanders from the deadly plague in 1728.
This village has dense vegetation in contrast to most Cycladic villages, that’s why here you will meet many picturesque alleys, mansions and castles.
