Things to do

Discover the Chora: The Chora (Mykonos town or center) is one of the best in Cyclades. Walking down the narrow streets you will come across picturesque white houses,with the characteristic colorful wooden windows and the small balconies. One of the landmarks of Chora is the famous pelican of Mykonos that has become the mascot of the island. You will probably get a glimpse of the cute creature in the harbor area of Mykonos, strolling leisurely in its own unhurried pace. Furthermore, once in Chora, make sure you visit the neighborhood of Little Venice: The houses with the impressive architecture belonged to rich merchants and captains back in the 18th century. The fact that they’re built literally by the sea will amaze you! Walking in the Chora, the beautiful Town Hall and the castle standing at the top of a hill over the harbourof Mykonos will also draw your attention.

Visit the churches and monasteries: The whitewashed churches with the blue domes and the beautiful steeples are an important attraction in every Greek island. In Mykonos, make sure you visit the most famous church in Chora, the Paraportiani church and the Monasteries of PanagiaTourliani and Paleokastro in AnoMera.

Visit the Windmills: One of the landmarks of Mykonos is the famous Windmills. Make sure you go and see them during your stay in the island, since they’re the perfect sunset spot. Furthermore, they will grant you with a panoramic view to the Chora and the Aegean Sea. In Boni’s mill, the Agricultural Museum of Mykonos is hosted and it’s certainly worth a visit. Other museums in the island you can visit are the Archaeological museum, the Folklore museum and the Aegean Maritime Museum in Chora.

Go to the archaeological site of Ftelia: An important archaeological site where a tomb is found built between the 14th and 13th centuries.

Ask for the Armenistis lighthouse: If you want to enjoy a magic view in the Aegean sea and see one of the most interesting lighthouses in Cyclades, make sure you visit the Armenistislighhouse in Mykonos. It was built around 1891 and its old mechanism can be found in the Aegean Maritime Museum in Chora.

Visit Delos, the sacred cradle of Greek gods: If you plan your luxury villa holidays in Mykonos, Greece make sure you give yourself the opportunity to enjoy another luxury: go to the nearby island of Delos. Getting to Delos from Mykonos is easy: you simply take one of the ferries from the Mykonos town Harbour. The travel duration is only 30 minutes. Delos is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean proclaimed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Monument. In the ancient times, the myth of god Apollo, god of light, and goddess Artemis having been born there rendered the island sacred: no mortal would ever be allowed to be born on its land. Delos is the only island in the world that one can find antiquities dating back to the Archaic, Classical and the Hellenistic periods.

Life is a beach in…Mykonos!

Mykonos has everything: beaches with green and turquoise waters, other more cosmopolitan and other more isolated. If you choose to spend your holidays in a luxury villa in Mykonos, you will soon find out that. This internationally famous island of the Aegean has some of the best beaches among the Greek islands. If you like partying and dancing all night, you should definitely go to Paradise and Super Paradise beaches.

Having always a map of Mykonos with you, in a short distance from Chora, you can swim in the crystal clear waters of Agios Stefanos: a beach suitable for water sports and families.  Other calm beaches are the ones of Ornos, KaloLivadi and the Kalafatis beach where you can do windsurfing if you like.

If you’re a celebrity aficionado then you should visit Plati Gialo and the famous Psarrou. The latter is considered to be one of the best beaches in the island, therefore if you want to find a sunbed you should always make a reservation before! For the lovers of diving, the ideal beach is Paragka: a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by impressive rocky formations. If you are a nudist you should think of Elia, one of the biggest beaches in the island of Mykonos. In Elia, there’s also a water park. The nudism “fanatics” will be impressed by the gay friendly Lia beach, the most distant one of Mykonos, if you have a look at the map(14 km from Chora).

Activities & Sports

Walking: If you want to discover the hidden beauties of Mykonos, you can do this by walking fromAnoMera to the beach of Lia.

Water sports and sailing: In many beaches in Mykonos (Elia, Kalafatis, PlatisGialos, Paradise, Ftelia) there are places where you can rent all the necessary equipment for a number of different water sports. More specifically, in Ftelia you can do windsurfing and kite surfing while in Elia beach you can do some canoeing.  If you need an adrenaline rush, you can also do Jet Ski with the help of instructors.

The strong winds in the island allow sailing as well.

Diving: Mykonos coves and bays are ideal for diving. You can find diving schools either you are a beginner or an experienced diver.

In the beaches of Psarou and Kalafatis,you can find diving centers that offer excellent underwater excursions.

Paintball – Horse riding: In the Ftelia you can even play paintball just for fun or you can do horse riding on the beach (there are also horse riding centers in Mykonos for those who want to take some lessons no matter their level).

Gastronomy

Besides Mykonian cuisine that will amaze you, in this island you will find the finest culinary and gastronomy. A “journey” will unfold for you in the alleys of the island with famous restaurants. To get a ‘taste’ we present a few below:

Nammos restaurant: Probably the most famous seashore restaurant in Mykonos located on the beautiful Psarou beach. Nammos is known to attract celebrities of an international calibre.

SolyMar: A beach restaurant and bar attracting many celebrities as well and is located in KaloLivadi.

D’Angelo Mykonos: A restaurant which would love those who prefer Italian cuisine, with great pasta and pizzas at NiochoriSquare.

Interni: It is placed in a beautiful garden and it offers a variety of culinary creations mostly based on the Mediterrenean cuisine.

In Platis Gialos you will find an excellent seafood restaurant, Atlantida Restaurant, with great atmosphere and excellent quality. The Funky Kitchen is in town and you will be impressed not only by the menu, but also by highly decorated space!

Access 

Especially in the summer, all roads lead to Mykonos! Many flights to the island from Athens, Thessaloniki, but also there are many charter flights from many European countries! Feel free to ask us for any further information.

By air: Mykonos has an airport serviced by domestic flights from the International airport of Athens and from Thessaloniki International Airport “Macedonia”. During the summer period there are flights from many islands, such as Santorini and Chaniato Mykonos!

By ferry: Mykonos is easy to reach from Athens from two ports (Piraeus and Rafina) by ferry boat. During summer, ferry companies add to their schedule more journeys. The duration of the journey by a ferry boat is approximately 5 hours and 3 hours with a high-speed boat.
