Τhe volcanic island 

The island is the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history: the Minoan eruption, which occurred some 3,600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization, left a large caldera that composes the uniqueness of this island. The island of Santorini has topped many international and European lists thanks to its beauty. The famous sunset in Imerovigli, the stunning beaches and a stay inluxury villas with amazing view to the Aegean, are a poll of attraction for anyone who desire holidays in Santorini. The beaches in Santorini are much different than other beaches in Greece due to their special geographical features. Experience Santorini 

Vacation in Santorini is not only known for its sun and sea, but it also has a fascinating history that it is worth to discover during your stay there. The Ancient Akrotiriis an intriguing archaeological site that is often referred to as the ‘’Pompeii of the Aegean’’, and by visiting it you will become more familiar to the ancient Greek history. Ancient Thira is situated on top of a high cliff just above Kamari and it is an excavated site of the foremost post- Minoan settlement on the island.

The Ancient Thira museum hosts a rich collection of finds from the excavations in the sites of Akrotiri and other Cyclades islands and it is quite spectacular even from the outside. The Santorini Museum of Musical Instruments is located in Oia and it includes musical instruments from 2,800 B.C till the early 20th century. In Oia is one of the most interesting bookstores in the world! The bookshop Atlantis is a small but very interesting bookshop and there you will find rare editions of books in many languages, first editions, and many more! Visit!

Unique beaches 

Each beach in Santorini has special characteristics which make it unique and also make your vacations outstanding in this beautiful island! Most beaches are well organized offering the choice of lounging chairs, umbrellas, and various water sports. Most of Santorini’s beaches are composed of dark volcanic sand, have unique land formations and the black, white and red sand make up an unforgettable scenery.

Kamari, Monolithos and Avis are located in the south-eastern part of the island and are organized, mainly preferred by families with small children.

Perissa and Perivolos are two of the most famous beaches of Santorini. These two beaches together form the longest black-sanded beach on the island.

The White beach can be reached only by boat and definitely worth your visit, as you can enjoy the unrevealing landscape, which has been transformed through ages.

The Red beach with the pebbly red sand and the backdrop will enchant you! The vertical cliffs make unique scenery to the visitors and will make their holiday in Greece Santorini very special!

Activities 

Travel to Santorini offers a huge variety of activities, as it is a special destination for couples (who want honeymoons), families and friends!

Catamaran cruises at mornings and at afternoons to admire the magnificent, idyllic sunset of Santorini. Trips to the Volcano and tour of the Caldera of Santorini, where you can try to take a healing swim in the sulphurous waters to the famous volcanic hot springs!

Moreover, the island offers private cooking classes and wine tasting tours in order to learn how to cook the unique typical Santorini dishes. On the other hand, if you prefer watersports, you should visit Kamari and Perissabeaches, which don’t disappoint the watersports lovers.

Access 

By air: Santorini can be reached by air from Athens. During the summer period there are additional flights between Santorini and other islands and charter flights from abroad. Also Santorini can be reached from most international airports via Athens.

By boat: travel to Santorini by boat from the Port of Piraeus. There is a regular ferry boat service to Santorini and it takes an average of nine to ten hours or there is the speed one that it takes about 5 to 6 hours.
